Rethinking the Relationship Between Human Rights Law and IHL with Stephanie Willett and Christian Jorgensen

IHL Discussion: From Peace to War and Back Again: Human Rights Law Across Conflict 


Stephanie Willett has years of experience in development and operations with both local and global nonprofit organizations. She has been with the Red Cross since 2014 and currently works as COO in Northern California Coastal Region. She has been a volunteer trainer in International Humanitarian Law since 2018 and also volunteers with the Red Cross’s Sound the Alarm program. Originally from Los Angeles, Stephanie has lived and worked internationally and is fluent in French and Spanish.

Christian Jorgensen serves as Legal Counsel at the American Red Cross-National Headquarters, where his work focuses on international humanitarian law. He holds a Juris Doctor from the University of New Mexico School of Law and a Master of Science in Refugee and Forced Migration Studies from DePaul University. His professional experience includes work in the United Kingdom, Cyprus, Germany, and Colombia, supporting humanitarian and legal initiatives in diverse international contexts.
